Prescriptions, Online Pharmacy Purchases and Unused Medications
1. A veterinary-client-patient relationship needs to be established for any medication that is not over-the-counter, to be prescribed, dispensed, or refilled.
2. All prescriptions requiring approval to online or outside pharmacies are subject to a $15.00 fee per each prescription. We also reserve the right to deny any online pharmacy prescription based on review of your pet's medical history and the professional judgment of the prescriber.
3. Due to the risk associated with online pharmacies and pet retail stores, we recommend that you purchase medications and parasiticides directly from Gibson Animal Clinic. Our distributors are not contracted to supply to online pharmacies or pet retail stores and only supply where a direct veterinary-client-patient relationship exists. There is no way we can ensure that products purchased from online pharmacies and/or pet retail stores have been handled correctly or whether these products are legitimate or counterfeit. We cannot guarantee that your pet will not experience an adverse effect or that the product will work as it is supposed to.
4. We are unable to accept unused portions of dispensed prescription drugs for refund, except when these drugs are subject to a recall. This policy is for your protection and assures you that medications dispensed from our pharmacy have been handled in a safe, unaltered manner.
